Over the years we have undertaken major structural work or total re-builds on 14 properties and therefore have considerable experience of working with building companies. However, working with Elvington Park Building Service well exceeded our expectations and previous experience.
Our plan was to convert a small 3 bedroomed bungalow into a 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom house; a major undertaking by any standards. From first meeting with Andrew Hudson we had total faith in his ability to complete the task and we felt comfortable in ourselves that we could work with him. He produced the most detailed, fully costed spreadsheet covering literally every aspect of the build. It was from this that we realised that he could achieve the required results on time and on budget.
The workforce that Andrew employs are all superb craftsmen in their own right. The standards that he expects are such that if the result is not good enough for his own home it is not good enough for his clients. Andrew was under pressure from us to complete the job as quickly as possible and there was not one single occasion when his workforce failed to turn up on time. They took exceptional pride in their work and remained ever cheerful, even during the ground works with the foulest of winter days.
Andrew’s personnel management skills are superb. He gives and receives loyalty. Additionally, he demonstrated sound management and superb inter-personal skills in when dealing with sub-contractors.
Andrew frequently gave sound advice when this was sought; but more importantly, he used his expertise to give unsolicited advice which, on all occasions, we readily accepted.
In sum, although we have worked with many good builders in the past, we have never had one who has been able to achieve such results, on time and on budget. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him and his company to any potential future clients.

We would like to thank the team for the work you did on our extension. In particular we were extremely impressed with Darren's work. Darren is an excellent communicator and has the difficult job of working between his boss, the workforce and the clients. He managed this very well. Darren has an eye for detail and a wish to make sure the job is carried out well. Thank you, Darren! In addition we were impressed by the health and safety aspect of the work, ensuring that the workplace was safe for a family. We were also pleased that everyone was friendly and easy to 'live with' ! Having two small boys next to/inside a building site is a challenge but all the people who worked on site were very good with the boys and we were grateful for that. Furthermore we are reassured to know that there will be no quibble if aftercare is needed with any aspect of the build.
